Project Description: 11 New Build Dwellings
This Design & Build development consisted of 11 terrace properties with a house mix comprising of 4No x 4B/8P units, and 7No x 3B/5P dwellings.
The site was surrounded on two sides by adjoining properties with no rear or side access to the site, and, on one end there was a Public House with a small car-park, this area was used to house our site welfare and an element of material storage, all other access was from Rushton Road meaning the whole scheme was extremely restricted and could only be served from the front elevation, this also forced challenges with existing neighbours and parking, getting materials down the narrow streets, where to stack and store materials, site operatives parking and general construction, but through good management and close liaison with the existing residents, all operations worked out well.
The dwellings were constructed in an artificial stone which complimented the existing properties, a grey roof tile was used, windows were in a grey upvc finish, grp canopies, and the entrance doors in a black grp, all of which were aesthetically pleasing and sat well within the existing street scene.
Internally the plots had contemporary looking doors, kitchens units and bathroom fittings,
furthermore exposed balustrading was used including to those plots which had a bedrooms and en- suites within the roof space.
The project team performed very well, and the scheme was successfully delivered to the client and within budget.
