Client: Incommunities Group Ltd

Site: Saltaire Mews, Shipley, Bradford

Project Description: 11 New Build Dwellings

This contract was to design and build 11 new dwellings (7Nr x 2 bed 4 persons and, 4Nr x 3 bed 5 person) complete with new mains services and external works, on the former Shipley, Fire Station site.

The development lies on the fringes of the Saltaire World Heritage Site containing Sir Titus Salts Mill and associated buildings, therefore careful consideration on the design, choice of materials and colours was paramount to ensure this new development blended in well.

Once the site had been cleared, excavations for new foundations took place, these were quite shallow as we hit rock practically on the surface.

After the foundations were complete, the superstructure commenced and built in natural 140mm coursed stone, chosen for its ability to blend in well with the adjoining dwellings.

The roof was covered in natural blue slates and the building maintained a range of features to include Heads, Cills, Corbels, Parapets and Copings.

As usual, The project was successfully delivered and handed over to the Client.
